This patent illustration for the well-known Matterhorn Bobsled ride is pretty special. With this ride being around since 1959, there is a long history of family fun relating to it. The above patent illustration was actually filed in 1960 and the invention "provides an amusement ride which realistically simulates a ride on a bobsled." The full patent can be found here.

This invention is made of "transparent super microcellular polymer foam with transparent coating." The surfboard also features a "locator device" that looks for sharks and other animals that live in the water. Today's shark patent is a "Shark Screen" that was patented in 1967. This invention is a "bag" in which a human would sit or stand.
